About
About Fort Collins Kitchen Co
We connect Fort Collins homeowners with a local kitchen remodeler for a free quote, and we publish the cost, permit, and planning detail that makes that quote readable. Remodeling work is performed by independent licensed contractors we connect you with.
What we do
Two things. We put your kitchen project in front of one local remodeler who gets in touch, and we publish what a kitchen costs and how one gets built in this part of Northern Colorado.
The second part is the reason the first part is useful. Most homeowners get their first kitchen quote with nothing to measure it against, so a large number arrives with no context and the only comparison available is another large number. Reading a quote is a skill, and the pages here are the fastest way to acquire it: which cabinet specification you are buying, what a countertop template is and why it comes after the boxes, why a hood at 600 CFM is a different conversation from one at 300, and where the schedule really lives.
How it works
- Describe the kitchen. Call, or fill in the quote form. The kitchen you have, the kitchen you want, and where the house is. Two minutes.
- One remodeler calls you. The kitchen remodeler covering your area picks it up and gets in touch to arrange a time to measure.
- Measure, then a written price. They measure the room, check what is behind the walls where they can, and send back a price with cabinets, counters, appliances, and labor listed separately, with a schedule.
- Read it against our numbers. The cost pages here show what each line should run around here. Compare, ask questions, take your time.
Who ends up here
Four groups, mostly:
- Owners of older Fort Collins houses, near Old Town or in the Laurel School district, deciding whether to rebuild a small kitchen properly or take out a wall and pay for the structure.
- Owners of newer east-side and Timnath houses, where the layout is fine and the question is how much better the cabinets, counters, and lighting can get for a defined budget.
- People preparing to sell, who want the version that presents well without spending money the sale will not return. That is usually a refresh, and we will say so.
- Landlords and investors, near the Colorado State campus and elsewhere, where durability and replacement cost matter more than the showroom photograph.
What a well run kitchen project looks like
- A price in writing before anything is ordered. Cabinets, counters, appliances, and labor separated, with named allowances for what has not been chosen yet.
- Cabinetry ordered early. Lead time, not crew availability, is what sets the start date on most kitchens in this region.
- Permitted work. Anything touching plumbing, electrical, or structure runs through the building department with jurisdiction over the address, and the contractor handles the submission and the inspection sequence.
- A written change order when something turns up. Older houses hide things. A documented price before the work continues is the normal way that gets handled.
- Licensed trades. Established remodelers carry the licensing their jurisdiction requires and work with licensed electricians and plumbers as a matter of course.
Where we cover
Fort Collins first, then Loveland, Windsor, Timnath, Wellington, Greeley, Berthoud, Severance, Johnstown, and Laporte. Roughly forty-five minutes from Old Town in any direction that has houses in it. The service areas pages cover what is typical in each.
